What FPL Now is
FPL Now is a native iOS app (iOS 26 or later, iPhone) for people who play Fantasy Premier League. Its free, permanent core is the live matchday: your team's FPL points on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island as they happen, using Apple's Live Activities, with FPL's own price-change tracker free alongside it. Its paid part is a decision engine: projections that show their working, captain comparison, planned moves that answer whether a transfer has to happen tonight or can wait, and your league's rank battle.
Getting your live score on the Lock Screen
- Install from the App Store. No account is created; the app never asks for an email or password.
- Find your team ID. On the FPL website open your team's
Points tab; the number after
/entry/in the address bar is your team ID. Paste the whole address into the app if you like — it extracts the number. - Connect: Settings → Your team → Find my team → Use this team. The app reads only what is already public for that ID.
- Leave "Start automatically at kickoff" on. A Live Activity appears at the first kickoff of each match day and runs to full time.
Where the numbers come from, and how fast
Live points come from the official FPL live feed
(fantasy.premierleague.com's public, unauthenticated endpoints), read
about every 30 seconds during matches by our server and pushed to your Live Activity.
The payload carries per-player changes ("Salah +6"), never your total — your phone
adds up its own squad, so the same broadcast serves a Triple Captain and a plain
team correctly.
Points come off as well as on. When VAR disallows a goal, an assist is reassigned, bonus is revised or a red card is rescinded, the app names the reason next to the points that left — "goal disallowed · −6" — rather than showing a smaller total with no explanation.
Alerts: what wakes your screen
Live Activities have two modes: a silent update that rolls the digits, or an alert that wakes the screen with a sound. Every event type — goals, assists, penalties, red cards, defensive contributions, full-time bonus, points taken away — has its own switch. Turning one off never removes the event from your score; it only stops the wake. A Focus mode (Sleep, Do Not Disturb) silences alerts system-wide, which is the most common reason an alert seems not to fire.
The decision engine
For every player with enough evidence, a projected-points number you can open: the appearance, goal, assist, clean-sheet, saves and bonus components that make it up, each marked as coming from our statistical model or from pre-match betting odds. Keep tapping and you reach the decimal prices and the arithmetic applied to them. Where no market exists the screen says so; where we have no evidence for a player, there is no number — never a guess dressed as data. The captain comparison uses the starting eleven you confirm, with projected points and starting likelihood kept separate. Planned moves answer whether a transfer has to happen tonight or can wait (see Prices, and what to do about them below). The rank battle shows your effective score against the rivals you choose — a private league of up to 50 teams, or the whole game — with which players are working for you and against you, live.
Betting odds are informational only. The app takes no wagers, contains no gambling functionality and links to no betting operators.
Prices, and what to do about them
FPL Now does not predict prices. FPL publishes its own price-change tracker, and the app carries it as FPL's data, said so on screen: the official progress and labels on every player, tonight's expected movers, your fifteen, players you star to watch, and an optional reminder 30 minutes before a change. That is free forever and it will not shrink or be capped.
What the subscription adds is the arithmetic on top, for your own squad. You name a move, who is coming in and who is going out, and the app answers the question that costs people money: move tonight, or can it wait? The verdict comes from FPL's own outlook applied to your bank and your two players, and it is allowed to say the move can wait. Your selling prices and squad value are derived from your own public transfer list, and they must reconcile with the value and bank FPL states for you. When they do not, the app shows nothing at all rather than a confident wrong number about your money.

The live matchday experience and FPL's own price tracker are free forever. The decision engine is an auto-renewing subscription at $0.99 a month or $6.99 a year, shown in your local currency in the App Store before you confirm, with Family Sharing on and no trial gimmicks. Accuracy — what we will and won't say
We never quote a bare accuracy number. Every gameweek's projections are frozen before the deadline, their SHA-256 digest is published, and they are marked after the matches on the season record — misses first, every figure with its population, sample size and a naive baseline. Three gameweeks in, the model's rank correlation with points on players who played is statistically indistinguishable from sorting by ownership; what it measurably does better is predict who plays and calibrate clean-sheet probabilities. Privacy, in one paragraph
No accounts, no ads, no tracking SDKs, no App Tracking Transparency prompt. What leaves your phone: your push token and public team ID to our own registry (so a matchday push can reach you; the registration is removed when you disconnect), and a handful of anonymous usage counts — event names and app version, hashed random install id, never your team. The registry record is device-linked rather than anonymous, and every field in it is listed on the privacy page.
